Apache open office is free and open-source computer software that can be run on any operating system like macOS, Windows, Linux, etc. It is available in 121 languages. This suite contains a word processor, spreadsheet application, presentation application, drawing application, formula editor, and database management application. The development credit of this software goes to Sun Microsystems and  Oracle Corporation. It is written in C++ and Java. It was first released in 2002 and the original author of this software is StarOffice. The default file format of OpenOffice is OpenDocument format and also supports different types of file formats.

Installing Apache OpenOffice on macOS 

To install the Apache OpenOffice on macOS follow the following steps: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of Apache OpenOffice using any web browser.

Step 2: Click on the I want to download Apache Open Office link.

Step 3: The link directs us to the download page on which we select the operating system, language, and version of the Apache OpenOffice that we want and then click on the Download full installation button to start downloading.

Step 4: Now find the executable file in the download folder of your system and then click on it to open it.

Step 5: Now hold and drag the OpenOffice to the applications.

Step 6: Now look for the OpenOffice into the applications and run it.

Step 7: It will prompt confirmation to run the software click on Open Button.
