How to install and use xpad on Ubuntu

Being the most popular Linux distribution, Ubuntu offers extensive support for a variety of apps. The Ubuntu application Xpad is about sticky notes and is accessible through the Ubuntu Software or by command-line support. It has several text fields and allows you to use sticky notes to store any sort of information that you want to remember but are worried you might forget. Linux and macOS are only two of the operating systems that the Xpad program supports. We’ll show you how to install Xpad in this article, and we’ll also go over how to use it in great detail. 

Installation of Xpad on Ubuntu

The Xpad application can be installed using 2 different methods:

  • Method 1: Installing Xpad using Ubuntu Software Center
  • Method 2: Installing Xpad using terminal

Let’s go through both the installation methods one by one.

Method 1: Installing Xpad using Ubuntu Software Center

Step 1: Open the Ubuntu Software Center to download the application.

 

Step 2: Search for the xpad application in the search bar.

 

Step 3: Click on the green install button to get the application installed on our system.

 

Step 4: We have installed the application successfully on our system.

 

Step 5: To launch the application, go to Activities Panel and search for xpad, click on the application’s icon to open.

 

Step 6: Xpad application is now successfully opened on our system.

 

Method 2: Installing Xpad using terminal

Step 1: Firstly, update all the repositories using the below command.

sudo apt update

 

Step 2: Using apt manager, install the Xpad application. Execute the below command in the same terminal.

sudo apt install xpad

 

Step 3: To launch the application from the terminal, run the below command in the terminal.

xpad

 

Usage of Xpad

Step 1: Go to the Preferences of the application and change the color of the UI. We can select any color so the background will be changed according to the selected color.

 

Step 2: As we have selected the Red color, the background has been changed from Yellow to Red.

 

Step 3: Now, we will write some text into the note. We can also export the note as per requirement.
