How to Install and Use Radio Tray on Linux?

Radio Tray is not the traditional software. This is not software that is generally needed by any developer. It is the software that can only fulfill your musical needs. It is online radio-like software. It can be able to play songs online. But there are many other software presents that perform the same function. But Radio Tray is quite different from them. It is implemented for a straightforward radio application. Other software uses a high level of user interface. But Radio Tray is only built in such a way that it can only take a minimum user interface. In that minimum user interface, It can able to serve millions of online radios. It is very easy to install & download. It provides a straightforward way to help the users to listen to music via radio. It provides drag & drops bookmark facility to make a favorite playlist of the radio stations.

Installing Radio Tray Using Sourceforge:

Step 1: At first, we need to open the browser. Then we have to move to the Sourceforge Link. There we will find a download function for the Linux environment. We have to click on the link. Then the downloading will start. 

Step 2: Then we have to start the installation. It will take some time to install it. We have to double-click on the downloaded file. Then it will start the installation window. Then we have to click on the Install Package option. It will start the installation process.

Step 3: Then the installation process will start. It will take some time to complete the installation procedure. We have to wait for some time.

Step 4: After successfully completing the installation process, we will click on the Application Tray. In the application tray, we have to click on Sound & Video.

Step 5: In the Sound & Video option, there are all types of Sound & Video applications are present. If the installation is completed successfully, the Radio Tray application will be available there. Hence, we have successfully installed the Radio Tray using Sourceforge.

Installing Radio Tray Using Software Manager:

Step 1: Here, we have to open the Software Manager of Linux. Then we have to search for the Radio Tray in the search bar. It will available there. Then we have to click on it.

Step 2: The Radio Tray application will available in front of the user. There will be brief details of the application available.

Step 3: There, on the right-hand side of the screen, an Install button will be available. We have to click on it to start the installation process.

Step 4: It will start the installation procedure. It will take some time to complete the installation process. We have to wait till the process is completed.

Step 5: Now after the installation is completed, there will Installed message be visible there. So, we have completed the installation process.

Step 6: After successfully installing the Radio Tray. The Radio Tray ion will be visible in the Tray of the Linux. Hence, we have successfully installed the Radio Tray using Application Manager.

Playing A Radio Station In Radio Tray:

Radio Tray comes with many inbuilt radio stations. We can play any of the stations. All the stations are grouped by a group name. In that group name, there are many stations located. Like, for some stations are playing old songs then they can be categorized into one group. From that one group, users can choose any radio station, that they need to play.

Step 1: First, we need to open the Radio Tray by clicking on the icon. Then a list-like structure will appear. From there, we can choose our beloved station group & we have to click on it.

Step 2: Then the stations, which are available under that group will appear. We have to click on the Radio Station name.

Step 3: It will open a small tab that is dynamic in nature. Menas it can be moved to anywhere on the screen. It will show the station name which is being played. Hence, we have successfully played a song on Radio Tray.

Adding A Radio Station In Radio Tray:

Step 1: After clicking on the Radio Tray icon, a list-like structure will appear. There at the bottom of the list, a preference option will be available. We have to click on it.

Step 2: After clicking on the Preference option, some more options will be available. We have to click on the Configure Radios option.

Step 3: After clicking on that option, a new window will be opened in front of the user. Then the user needs to click on the Add Group option to add a new station.

Step 4: Then another new window will open. There, the user needs to provide the name of the Group. And it is necessary to provide the Parent Group as root. It will help to configure the system at the beginning level. After adding all the details we need to click on the save button.

Step 5: After providing such details, it will ask for the details of the radio station’s name. The user needs to provide the Station Name, & the Station URL. It will be the URL of the online radio station. Users can provide any favorite station name & URL there. After providing all the details we need to click on save.

Step 6: After successfully adding the Radio Station, it will be available on the list of the Radio Channels in the Radio Tray. Hence, we have successfully added a new station on Radio Tray.
