Generally, we have to click on the shortcut icon of the Wi-Fi. This helps to start the internet connection in the device. But sometimes this icon is disappearing from the machine. This is happening as there is an internet caching issue. The device is strong, some caching flies in the icon. This is the reason for disappearing the icon over the Toolbar. We can suppose to get a new update in Windows 11 that will eradicate the issue.

Restart Windows OS and Check Wi-Fi Settings;

If you can’t find your Wi-Fi settings, restart your Surface (don’t shut it down) and check your Wi-Fi settings again. Follow the given steps below:

  • Step 1: Make sure your router is connected directly or via a modem to a working phone jack or cable connection. For more information on setting up the appropriate devices, see Setting up your wireless network.
  • Step 2: Select Start → Power → Restart or, if an update is pending, select Update and restart.
  • Step 3: After your Surface restarts, sign in. Select Start→ Settings→ Network and Internet.
  • Step 4: Make sure the in-flight mode is set off.
  • Step 5: If you can’t find the Wi-Fi settings yet: Proceed to Step 2.

If the Wi-Fi setting is displayed, Select [Wi-Fi] and confirm that Wi-Fi is set to [on]. The network name is displayed on the list of available wireless networks. Select a network and select Connection.

This complete process is just like restarting the Wi-Fi. As there are problems related to the caching, restarting the Wi-Fi will help to remove all the cache from the system. This process might follow from time to time. It can occur when there are a large number of junk present.

Step 5: Now, after completing the process, we can open the shortcut to select Wi-Fi. Now, we can see the Wi-Fi option is back again. And it will connect to the present internet connection automatically.

Hence, we have successfully fixed the Wi-Fi option in Windows 11.

Install Updates:

Installing the latest update can help fix many common Wi-Fi connection issues, but you must be online to download the update. If you can’t connect to your home network or a public wireless network at a coffee shop or library, here are some ways to get online and get updates.

  • Step 1: You can go online using a wired connection (for example, using an Ethernet to USB adapter or Surface Dock and Ethernet).
  • Step 2: You can manually download a single update file and install it on your Surface. You can use another PC with internet access to download the files to a USB drive and transfer them to your Surface.
  • Step 3: For more info, see Download Surface drivers and firmware. If you have a Surface with a cellular connection, you can use it to connect to the internet and get updates. For more info, see Set up an LTE connection on your Surface.

Once online, to manually check for and install the latest updates, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Select Start and enter your settings. Select Settings → Windows Update.
  • Step 2: Select Check for updates. If updates are available, they will be downloaded and installed automatically.
