How to Create a Glowing Text Effect in Flash?
Flash is an animation software with different features. These features help in making fabulous animations and artwork. Some of the functions of flash are tweens, masking, character tracing, lip sync, text effects and many more. Animations in flash can be made frame by frame or using traditional character puppet animations in which a character or item is broken into different parts and these parts are moved in coordination to produce different types of animations.
Glowing Text Effect
Glowing text effect is one of the features of flash which is used for the animation of text used in the artwork. Text in flash has several properties like font, size, style and other properties. Using these properties, text can be decorated but still there is something missing. Here comes the glow effect which gives animated and non animated text a final touch.
Steps to create glow effect:
Step 1: Run the flash software, once it is loaded, click on the ActionScript 3.0 to create a new project.
Step 2: A new file will get open. On the left side, toolbar click on the T icon which is the text tool.
Step 3: Using text tool write something on stage say “Geeks for Geeks”.
Step 4: On the right-hand side, there is the property toolbar using which size, style, font family, font colour can be changed easily.
Step 5: At the bottom of the toolbar, the last option is FILTERS, click on filters. On clicking a new toolbar with property and value fields becomes visible. It has some tools at the bottom.
Step 6: First tool is called add filter, click on it and a list of different filters will appear.
Step 7: From this list click on Glow, a new property bar will appear with different properties along with their values. Also the text on the screen started glowing.
Step 8: Now these properties can be manipulated to give different glow effects. Look at the below result.
