How to add widgets in WordPress ?

WordPress is an open-source Content Management System and an interface that is totally based on PHP and MySql which is used to create a dynamic website. Matt Mullenweg developed WordPress and Written in PHP language. WordPress is one of the most popular interfaces that allow users to customize and manage the website from its back-end content management system. It is used to organize the whole process of creating, storing, and showcasing web content in an optimal way. WordPress was initially developed as an improvement tool that enhances the regular typography of day-to-day writing.

In this article, we are going to discuss how we can add widgets in WordPress.

Let’s see the steps to how to add widgets in WordPress Easily and Quickly:

Step 1: First login into WordPress dashboard. For that, go to the WordPress login panel and try to log in to the WordPress Dashboard by entering the username and password. To access the WordPress login panel you can add /wp-login.php to the end of the website URL that you want to access.

After entering the username and password and login into WordPress, the user will be able to see a dashboard like this:

Step 2: Now search for All Posts in the menu and open the Widgets. To open Widgets, for that:

In the menu option on the left side of the WordPress window, you will find many options. Then go to the Appearance to Widgets.

After clicking on Widgets on the dropdown menu, you will see a similar Widgets section like this:

Step 3: From the Widgets Section, click on the ‘+’ button on the Widgets section on the left top corner of the page. After clicking on the button, you will find all options to add widgets to the page.

Now choose any widget in the search bar, here I am using the image widget option as shown below:

Now try to insert an image in the image widget. For that refer: WordPress Insert Media

Now click on the update button to update the changes on the page. After clicking on the update button, You will get a ‘Widget Save’ message.

That’s it, you have now successfully learned how to add widgets in WordPress.
