HCL Interview Experience (Off-Campus) 2023

I recently had an interview with HCL for a Graduate Trainee position. The interview process consisted of three rounds: Assessment round, a technical interview, and an HR interview. I got this opportunity off-Campus, I applied through the HCL portal and then I got mail for the assessment round within 10 days after applying.

Round 1: Assessment Round

 It was a combination of five rounds:  

• Section A – Verbal Ability
• Section B – Quantitative Ability
• Section C – Logical Ability
• Section D – IT fundaments (Networking and OS)
• Section E – (Technical) Pseudo code of C++ and Java

Test duration – 75 mins

It covers around 20 to 25 questions in each section and the level of the questions is easy to medium, you can easily clear the assessment round easily, if you have a basic knowledge of these subjects such as OS, Aptitude, Networking, and One programming language.

After submitting the test, I cleared it and then I got the mail of technical interview (Round 2) round after 7 days of assessment.

Round 2: Technical Interview Round

My technical interview round was held for 30 mins. I was asked basic questions related to programming languages, SQL and Networking. The interviewer also asked me to write a simple code snippet on the spot and that was a very simple pattern question. I was able to answer most of the questions, and the interviewer seemed satisfied with my responses. They also gave me a coding problem to solve, and I was asked to explain my approach and thought process. The interviewer was very friendly and encouraging, and I felt comfortable discussing my technical skills with them. The Interviewer asked me about my project and the technologies that I used while making my projects. 

After this meeting ended and I got mail that I cleared the technical round after 2 days of the interview, now my next Round, which is the HR round, is scheduled.

Round 3: HR Round

This round is an interaction round in which HR will ask you some basic questions like I was asked about my strengths and weaknesses. The interviewer also explained the company culture and work environment. I found the interviewer to be professional and welcoming, and the conversation flowed smoothly. The interviewer also asked me, “What do you know about this organization?”, ” Why do you want to join HCL”?

Overall, my experience with HCL’s interview process was positive. The interviewers were knowledgeable and friendly, and I felt comfortable discussing my technical and professional skills with them, that’s how I got this opportunity.
