HCL Interview Experience (Off-Campus)

HCL Technologies is an Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company headquartered in Noida. It is a subsidiary of HCL Enterprise.
Originally a research and development division of HCL, it emerged as an independent company in 1991 when HCL entered into the software services business. 
Well, I got a chance to apply for HCL for the profile of Graduate Trainee engineer. It was off-campus recruitment. There were total 2 rounds:

• Technical assessment round
• HR Round

Technical Assessment Round: I got an email from HCL Officials for the 1st round. It was having 2 sections:

• It had 5 different subsections and the time duration for this section was 95 minutes.
  • English
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Logical Ability
  • IT Fundamentals
  • Coding Fundamentals

In this section, there were 77 questions and you had to solve them within 95 Minutes. You can switch from one section to another one so it was convenient to solve the problems. Questions were a mix of easy and medium levels. Some of them were tricks but if you have a bit of practice over aptitude, you can easily solve them.

• Once you finished section 1, the 2nd section will start within a minute and It was completely based on computer networking. This section was having 20 problems and the time for this one was 30 minutes. Questions in this level were really good and most of them were of medium level. For this section, I would suggest a good revision over routing protocols and IP addresses such as subnet masking, physical addresses, and ranges of all classes. I have answered most of the problems and after this round, I got an email for HR Round as there was no technical round.

2nd HR Round: This round was basically about my area of interest, salary, relocation, and signing bonds. HR also asked me about current affairs like the latest news within 1-2 days before. It went around 10 minutes and I was asked to wait for the final result.

After 1 week of this round, I got my confirmation from HCL. Overall, it was a great experience interviewing with HCL. Hope it will help other geeks in their interview preparation.
