HackWithInfy SES Interview Experience 2020

Round- 1 Coding Round

Coding round held on the HackerEarth platform on 30th March 2020. This round comprises 3 questions that vary in difficulty level. The time allotted to solve these questions is 3 hrs. I have solved 1.5 questions and received invitation for 2nd round.

Round-2: Coding Round

It is also a coding round but it will a webcam proctored test held on HackerEarth on 31 May 2020. Again, 3hrs to solve 3 questions but the level of questions increases. In this test, we won’t able to see the number of test cases your code has passed while submitting (because that was hidden) we got only a message i.e. “Your Code is Submitted”. Based on the performance one can be offered System Engineer Role (SE) , System Engineer Specialist Role (SES) or Power Programmer Role (PP). 

If you solve one question full then SES invitation will be given and if two or more than two questions solved then PP role will be provided according to 2020 rules.

I solved 1.5 questions and received a Pre-Placement Interview call for System Engineer Specialist role.

Round-3: Interview:

Due to COVID-19 pandemic my Interview was held virtually on Infosys Meridian platform and last for around 1 hour. I was asked to show my college id before starting the interview.

Interviewer: Tell me something about yourself.

Me: Answered.

Interviewer: Looking into my Resume asked questions related to projects.

My project was in the field of web development so questions were based on that. Questions were:

Interviewer: Which languages are used to create the website?

Me: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JS.

Interviewer: Tell Some bootstrap classes.

Me: Answered

Interviewer: What is video tag how to use that.

Me: Answered

Interviewer: Open paint and said to explain 3-tier Architecture.

Me: Explained using diagram.

Interviewer: Asked me to write code on notepad sharing my screen. Write a program to print the greatest number from a given string.

Me: I used python language and wrote the code for that.

Interviewer: Do you know exception handling?  

Me: yes, and explained him

Interviewer: Given a situation based on my project, If you have organized an event in college and you have to show your principal how many students have participated in the event using web development and database connectivity. Which query will you fire?

Me: Answered the select query for so. He told me the fields in the database table based on that I wrote the query.

Interviewer: Write the insert query for the situation given?

Me: Answered

Interviewer: Why Infosys?

Me: Because it is one of the fastest growing and reputed company in India.  

Tip: Just tell all the good things you feel in your dream company : )

Interviewer: Smiling, why do you think it is reputed?

Me: Answered

Interviewer: Any plans for higher studies?

Me: I said yes but now due to financial condition I want to do job first then I’ll think of higher studies.

Tip: If you want to be selected then Just tell no I have not planned to do so, this I got to know after my interview that we should say no for this question.

Interviewer: Any questions for me?

Me: Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I would like to know your good name and position in the organization so that I can answer my friends and family who took my interview. Also I wanted to know my weekness because you took interviewed me and as experienced person you can tell me what was my weakness so I will try my best to enhance my knowledge.

Interviewer: As due to company policies I cant tell my name and position and I’ll let you know your performance.

Me: Ok sir.

Tips: You should thank them for giving this opportunity and ask the questions like culture of company, A day in the company, How should I enhance my skills like these questions.

After 2 months I received my Selection Letter from Infosys for SES role.

(If your college have tie-up with them then the results are provided to your tpo else you will receive personally.)

Some useful Tips:  

1. Prepare your Resume well enough (They will focus mainly on Resume).
2. Have good and practical knowledge of OOPS and DBMS.
3. Be confident enough and if you don’t know some answers tell I don’t know I would like to know.
4. My interview was at 12pm but interviewer was not there so in this situation don’t panic mail them and in some telegram channels students provide there HR number contact them. My friend gave the interview for PP role he provided me the contact of HR so I contacted him he said we will reschedule the interview. Then After one hr they contacted me and told my interview is rescheduled at 3pm.
5. In interview our whole fear is gone because they are so friendly with us.
6. Don’t take tension before preparing
