Highlight 5: Pixel Tablet and Pixel 7a

On Wednesday, Google unveiled the Pixel 7a Android smartphone and  Pixel tablets. The Pixel 7a, like preceding “Pixel a” model phones, incorporates many design elements of the more costly Pixels, such as the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, into a more cost-effective device.

The new 11-inch Pixel tablets and the less expensive Pixel 7a phone. Priced at $499, The Pixel Tablet has a Charging Speaker Dock that transforms it into a smart home management hub. At $499, the Pixel 7a is a more affordable smartphone than the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Highlight 6: Pixel Fold

Google has unveiled a foldable smartphone for the first time; it costs $1800 and is marketed to enthusiasts and high-end customers. Its design is similar to the Galaxy Z Fold because it can be opened to transform from a smartphone to a tablet. 

When fully opened, the Pixel Fold’s display is 7.6 inches and has a resolution of 2208 x 1840 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. When folded, the Pixel Fold has a 5.8-inch display with a resolution of 2092 x 1080. It is powered by a 4,821mAh battery and the most modern Google Tensor chip.

The most recent iteration of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 14, will support AI-generated wallpapers and new lock screen personalization choices.

According to the latest official information, the actual timing of Android 14’s release is still unknown. Google predicts that the platform stability milestone for Android 14 will be reached in June, and programmers will have “several weeks” to test their applications before the stable release.

Highlight 8: PaLM 2

Google also unveiled PaLM 2, its most recent large language model to compete with OpenAI’s GPT-4, the company behind ChatGPT. The move is a significant advancement for the technology that underpins the company’s artificial intelligence products, which promises to be better at logic, common sense reasoning, and arithmetic. 

Additionally, it may produce specialized code in several programming languages. He added that about 20 Google products now use PaLM 2 and that a mobile device can run a lite version of it.
