Google Chrome is one of the best web browsers as it is used by more than 60 percent of people worldwide on their desktops. It is also freeware means free to use by anybody. A license agreement is also simple and straightforward. It was developed by Google Incorporation and initially, it was released in 2008.

Microsoft Edge is the official web browser of Microsoft corporation and it is a platform-independent web browser. It is an open-source browser and can be used by anyone, initially, it was released in 2015 only for Xbox One and Windows 10 but later it was enhanced to support nearly all operating systems. It uses a Blink engine and has advanced features like dark mode and other security features to provide the best experience.

1. Google chrome is older and much more popular. Edge is a new browser and it is not much popular.
2. It has horizontal tabs aligning feature. Tabs can be arranged horizontally as well as vertically.
3. Google chrome ensures privacy and security but does not have different levels of these. Edge takes privacy as its topmost priority and to ensure this, it comes with multiple levels of privacy features.
4. It lacks immersive reader functionality which eases the reading experience. It comes with immersive reader functionality which makes the reading experience better.
5. It uses the Google search engine for accessing information. It uses Bing as its default search engine to access the information.
6. Around 70 percent of the market uses Chrome as its browser. Around 8 percent of the market uses Microsoft Edge as its default browser.
7. Consumption of RAM is more as compared to Edge. Consumption of RAM is less as compared to Chrome.
8. Syncing information across multiple devices is fabulous in Chrome. Edge does not implement the syncing feature effectively and hence lacks from Chrome.
