File getPath() method in Java with Examples

The getPath() method is a part of File class. This function returns the path of the given file object. The function returns a string object which contains the path of the given file object.
Function Signature:
public String getPath()
Function Syntax:
file.getPath()
Parameters: This function does not accept any parameters.
Return value: The function returns a String value which is the Path of the given File object.
Below programs will illustrate the use of the getPath() function:
Example 1: We are given a file object of a file, we have to get the path of the file object.
import java.io.*;
public class solution {
public static void main(String args[])
{
try {
File f
= new File( "c:\\users\\program.txt" );
String path = f.getPath();
System.out.println( "File path : " + path);
}
catch (Exception e) {
System.err.println(e.getMessage());
}
}
}

File path : c:\users\program.txt
Example 2: We are given a file object of a directory, we have to get the path of the file object.

public class solution {
public static void main(String args[])

File f = new File( "c:\\users\\program" );
String path = f.getPath();
System.out.println( "File path : " + path);
}
catch (Exception e) {
System.err.println(e.getMessage());
}
}
}

The programs might not run in an online IDE. please use an offline IDE and set the path of the file
