Fabric.js is a JavaScript library that is used to work with canvas. The canvas Itext is one of the class of fabric.js that is used to create Itext instances. The canvas Itext means the Itext is movable and can be stretched according to requirement. In this article, we will be using selectable property to disable the selectability of the canvas Itext.

Approach: First import the fabric.js library. After importing the library, create a canvas block in the body tag that will contain the Itext. After this, initialize an instance of Canvas and Itext class provided by Fabric.js and use the selectable property to disable the selectability.

Syntax:

fabric.Itext (Itext , {
    selectable: boolean
});

Parameters: This function takes a single parameter as mentioned above and described below:

  • selectable: This parameter takes a boolean value.

Example: This example uses FabricJS to set the selectable property of the canvas Itext as shown in the below example:

HTML

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>

<head>
    <!-- FabricJS CDN -->
    <script src=
    </script>
</head>

<body>

        </h1>

        <b>

    </div>

    <div style="text-align: center;">
        <canvas id="canvas" width="400" height="200"
            style="border:1px solid green;">
        </canvas>
    </div>

    <script>
        var canvas = new fabric.Canvas("canvas");

        var geek = new fabric.IText('GeeksforGeeks', {
            selectable: false
        });

        console.log(geek.willDrawShadow())
        canvas.add(geek);
        canvas.centerObject(geek);
    </script>
</body>
