Fabric.js is a JavaScript library that is used to work with canvas. The canvas Itext is one of the class of fabric.js that is used to create Itext instances. The canvas Itext means the Itext is movable and can be stretched according to requirement. In this article, we will be using the opacity property that is used to set the opacity of the Itext.

Approach: First import the fabric.js library. After importing the library, create a canvas block in the body tag which will contain the Itext. After this, initialize an instance of Canvas and Itext class provided by Fabric.JS and use the opacity property used to set the opacity of the Itext.

fabric.Itext(Itext, {
      opacity : number

Parameters: This function takes a single parameter as mentioned above and described below:

  • opacity: This parameter takes a number value

Example: This example uses FabricJS to set the opacity property of the canvas Itext as shown in the below example:

<!DOCTYPE html>
    <!-- FabricJS CDN -->
    <script src
    <div style="text-align: center;width: 400px;"
      <h1 style="color: green;"

    <div style="text-align: center;"
      <canvas id="canvas" width="400" height="200"
              style="border:1px solid green;"
      //creating a new instance of canvas
      var canvas = new fabric.Canvas("canvas");
      //creating a new instance of IText
      var geek = new fabric.IText('GeeksforGeeks', {
        opacity : 0.3
      //rendering IText object in canvas
