Round 1:

  • My interview was conducted offline on the campus of Excelsoft Technologies.
  • Duration – 10 minutes
  • The first round I faced was a written Programming test, which was based on any programming languages preferred by the candidates. I chose Java to write my code.
  • There were 2 questions:
  • 1st – Program to remove duplicate elements in an Array using (pre-defined).
  • 2nd – Program to find the sum of the 2nd largest and 2nd smallest element in an Array.
  • Since I am a Fresher and pursuing bachelor’s degree, I am in the learning phase and would say I’m at Beginner’s level in coding.
  •  So I failed in this Round

Suggestion: Always prepare yourself by writing, practicing, and learning programs beforehand when u are about to attend an interview. Be good with the basics of programming and logic behind every question. The questions can be answered easily you just need to have knowledge about the basics of the things mentioned in your resume, and be honest in your resume.

Round 2 (Technical and HR Round):

  • The next Round was Technical Round which was about 5 – 10 minutes.
  • The interviewer asked several questions about the programming languages I have mentioned in my resume like C, Python, Java, etc.
  • He asked me to explain my Final year project in detail and I did. My project was Image Steganography using python.
  • He asked me to write simple queries in SQL as I have mentioned in my resume and I was able to write queries.
  • Following that, I was also asked questions like Joins(left and right), tables in SQL, and concepts in OOPs.
  • So I did manage to answer most of the questions in the Technical round.
  • Then comes the HR Round which was also of short duration within 10 minutes.
  • First I gave my Self-introduction and the place I live.
  • The mistakes I did in the Written round were brought in this round by HR, he asked me why couldn’t wrote it correctly and I answered him honestly that I was not prepared for the programming test.
  • The HR said that I lack skills in a programming language but appreciated my communication skills and offered me an alternative role in AWS configuration.
  • So this was sudden to me and I had to think about this in detail and the HR granted me about 30 minutes to consider his offer, so I contacted my teachers and took their opinions and I had made up my mind.
  • Now I went again to meet HR and I told him that I cannot change the area of interest (.e. software engineer ) and I would take time to work on my programming skills and not give up my passion for other roles.
  • So I chose my passion rather than settling for a job I am not interested in.

So I would say that do the job which u have always dreamed of work on it if u lack some skills in it. This interview thought me how much competition is going on in IT field and that I should work hard enough to be competent.
