Duration toHours() method in Java with Examples

The toHours() method of Duration Class in java.time package is used get the value of this duration in number of hours.

Syntax:

public long toHours()

Parameters: This method do not accepts any parameter.

Return Value: This method returns a long value which is the number of hours in this duration.

Below examples illustrate the Duration.toHours() method:

Example 1:




// Java code to illustrate toHours() method
  
import java.time.Duration;
  
public class GFG {
    public static void main(String[] args)
    {
  
        // Duration using parse() method
        Duration duration
            = Duration.parse("P2DT3H4M");
  
        System.out.println("Duration: "
                           + duration);
  
        // Get the number of hours
        // using toHours() method
        System.out.println(duration.toHours());
    }
}


Output:

Duration: PT51H4M
51

            = Duration.ofHours(10);
