Wi-Fi and Internet are two completely different things. Wi-Fi is more sort of a facility that gives wireless Internet access to smartphones, computers, or other devices within a selected range. On the other hand the Internet is a language through which computers communicate (send and receive their information) via the Internet Protocol. It’s sort of a massive network of networks that connects many computers globally in order that users at one computer can interact or share information with users at another computer as long as they’re connected to the web. So, let’s see the difference between Wi-Fi and Internet:

S.No. WiFi Internet
1. In 1997, Vic Hayes invented WiFi as he chaired the IEEE committee that developed the specifications of IEEE 802.11. The evolution of the Internet started in 1969 with Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA).
2. It is a wireless networking technology used to send and receive signals from nearby devices to provide Internet access. Whereas it is a telecommunication networking technology by which the device are interconnected globally.
3. In wi-fi, radio frequency waves are used to send and receive information. Whereas on the Internet, a set of predefined rules governed by the TCP / IP suite is used.
4. Wi-Fi is one of the few ways to access the Internet. Whereas, unlike wi-fi, the Internet is a language through which computers communicate.
5. Wireless devices can be connected to Wi-Fi but it is not necessarily to the Internet. While on the Internet, Wi-Fi is not required to connect computers globally.
6. In WiFi, DSL devices and routers are required. On the Internet, a device is needed to connect the Internet and LAN servers.
7. In WiFi, a computer is connected to the Internet. Whereas on the Internet, many computers are connected to a network.
8. A Wi-Fi network operating from one router operates no further than 50-100 meters. The mobile Internet has 3G or 4G, which is accessible for several kilometers and even tens of kilometers, where there is a mobile connection, it is almost everywhere.
