Difference between Project Management and Construction Management

1. Project Management :
Project management, as name suggest, is simply management and control of project activities within organization through out development phase. They have to report to owner about each detail.

2. Construction Management :
Construction management, as name suggests, is simple management and control of construction activities within organization. They have to report to project manager about each details.

Difference between Project Management and Construction Management :

Project Management	Construction Management
It mainly focuses on management of project work.	It mainly focuses on management of construction work.
Project manager have more responsibilities than construction manager.	Construction manager have less responsibility than project manager.
Project manager also have to look towards food chain in organization.	Construction manager only look towards construction work within organization.
They also have to look towards land allotting, managing employees, assigning tasks, hiring construction manager, etc.	They only look towards construction work including equipment’s, materials, assets, etc.
Its responsibility of project manager to provide tools, resources, support required by construction manager to complete project work.	Its responsibility of construction to use those tools and resources in effective and productive way and get project work completed.
Project manager work is not that much difficult than construction manager.	Construction manager work is more difficult and major than project manager work.
Its other responsibility includes design and construction view, budget management, monitoring project schedule, etc.	Its other responsibility includes cost management, document control, inspections, change management, etc.
Project managers are required in various fields such as real estate, computer design, etc.	Construction managers are required only where construction work is done.
