1. Project Engineer :
Project Engineer, as name suggest, is simply a person who is professional in managing and controlling team, as well as responsible for both engineering and technical disciplines that are needed to successfully complete a project.

2. Trainee Engineer :
Trainee Engineer, as name suggests, is simply a person or employee who is supposed to learn practical experience of engineering and implement new methods to achieve company’s or organization’s goal.



Difference between Project Engineer and Trainee Engineer :

Project Engineer Trainee Engineer
It mainly focuses on organizing and controlling project elements. It mainly focuses on gaining practical knowledge and experience.
Skills required for project engineer includes safety management, process improvement, documentation skills, requirement analysis, etc. Skills required for site engineer includes experience in technical field, better communication skills, analytical and critical thinking skills, etc.
Their responsibilities includes develop project objectives, determine project responsibility, controls project plan, etc. Their responsibilities includes design of commodity depending, attending meeting, conducting desktop and field research, etc.
Factors affecting project engineer performance includes size of project, poor communications skills, lack of technical knowledge, lack of improvement skills, etc. Factors affecting site engineer performance includes lack of knowledge, training programs, environment considerations, attitude of trainees, etc.
Its process include schedule preparation, preplanning, managing, controlling, and resource forecasting, etc. Its process include completing tasks, observing strategies and techniques, offering suggestions for improvement, conducting research, collecting data, etc.
Its main objective is plan project and ensure proper implementation of project elements. Its main objective is to work as per given guidelines and instructions of manager as well as deliver best of their abilities.
Its benefit includes consistency, in-depth planning, risk assessment, thinking skills, improvement in planning and designing, etc. Its benefit includes work anywhere, ability to improvise existing engineering techniques, gather information, perform and carry out project, etc.
Project engineer tasks are more difficult than trainee engineer tasks. Trainee Engineer tasks are less difficult than project engineer tasks.
It can also handle role of trainee engineer. Its role is limited and therefore cannot handle role of project engineer.
