1. Project Engineer :
Project Engineer, as name suggest, is simply a person or engineer who is professional and manage both engineering and technical projects and ensue project is completed according to plan and schedule.

2. Application Engineer :
Application Engineer, as name suggests, is simply a person or employee who is responsible for improving functioning of software and are capable of planning and designing tools, engines, and functioning equipment’s.



Difference between Project Engineer and Application Engineer :

It mainly focuses on managing engineering and technical projects. It mainly focuses on creating new software architecture.
Skills required for project engineer includes good communication skills, ability to explain design ideas and plans, good organizational skills, etc. Skills required for application engineer includes developing strong quantitative skills, development experience, ability to troubleshoot problems, interpersonal skills, etc.
Their responsibilities includes preparing cost estimates, design and conduct tests, monitor project progress, maintain product and company reputation, etc. Their responsibilities includes develop and maintain documents for designs and application, analyze and meet customer requirements, troubleshoot problems that are being identified, etc.
Factors affecting project engineer performance includes no technical understanding, poor documentation skills, lack of design skills, etc. Factors affecting application engineer performance includes poor managerial skills, lack of technical knowledge, poor coordination with team members, etc.
Its process include project planning, maintaining, execution, testing and commissioning. Its process include managing, designing, developing or creating, and implementing both programs and applications.
Its main objective is to manage planning and processes of project and make sure it gets completed on time. Its main objective is to design as well as improve software quality and performance.
Its benefit includes increase safety, reduce time spent on working, identify and solve problems, control and maintain performance, etc. Its benefit includes risk assessment, provide updates, provide technical support, provide support to engineering software, etc.
Project engineer tasks are more difficult than Application Engineer tasks. Application Engineer tasks are less difficult than Project Engineer tasks.
It cannot handle role of Application Engineer. Its role is limited and therefore cannot handle role of project engineer.
