1. Laptop: Laptop is an all-in-one computer that uses batteries or AC power that can last for several hours. It can be easily transported. It is also called a Notebook. It has basically a LED or LCD screen. It can be operated by a battery or AC supply which makes it portable. It is a compact version of a desktop where all the input, output, and processing devices are inbuilt in a single package. 

2. Tablet: A tablet or Tablet Computer is a device generally operated with a mobile operating system. It has a touchscreen display and there is a rechargeable battery inbuilt into it. It is basically a thin and flat device. It does not have a physical keyboard with it. The lasting time of the battery in the tablet is more as compared to the battery life of the laptop. It is light weighted and portable easily. 

Difference between Laptop and Tablet :

4. It has a trackpad for a mouse inbuilt into it. While on a tablet all the work is done with a touch screen.
5. It is heavy-weighted in comparison to the tablet. While it is light-weighted comparatively.
6. It has a lower battery lasting life. While it has a higher battery lasting life.
7. The battery of the laptop may be detachable or non-detachable. While it has a non-detachable battery.
8. It does not have a slot for sim cards. Some tablets may have a slot for sim cards.
9. It is more expensive than a tablet. While it is less expensive comparatively.
10. It has more features in comparison to the tablet. While it has fewer features than a laptop.
11. It may have CD or DVD player inbuilt. While it does not have such functionality. 
12. It is possible to upgrade the device in terms of hardware like hard drives and RAM. It is not possible to upgrade in terms of hardware.
13. It has relatively more storage space than a tablet. It has less storage space.
14. There is no such restriction on the laptop. Tablet apps have limitations in terms of input devices and hardware. So laptop apps need to be scaled down to fit into tablet environment.
15. It gives greater flexibility for mobile computing and tablet can just be an add-on to that when you need to access the services like gaming, searching and many more. Tablets can never be a replacement for a laptop.
