1. Intel :
Intel stands for “Integrated Circuit”. Intel Corporation is an American multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, in Silicon Valley. It was invented by Robert Noyce. It is one of expensive processors.

If we talk on a scale of 1-10, Intel processors comes at a scale of 4-10. Going down price, one cannot get good performance of Intel processors. Intel’s wattage is almost 50%, so power consumption is less by these processors. If you want a laptop with good battery life, then Intel processors should be preferred. If you want to buy high-end laptops or desktops, One should prefer Intel based processors because performance in this segment is way better than AMD. If we talk about Desktop, and you want to change processor, motherboard or socket’s compatibility, then Intel has many options available for that in comparison to AMD processor.

For better video and good production sound, Intel processors are best.
Example – Intel Xeon, Intel Core i series.

2. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) :
AMD stands for Advanced Micro Devices. It is an American multinational semiconductor company based in Santa Clara, California. It was invented by Jerry Sanders, Jack Gifford, John Carey.

On a scale of 1-10, AMD processors comes at 2-8. It is cheaper than Intel Processors. If you are taking a minimum budget laptop or PC, then preferring AMD processors is a good idea as compare to Intel processors. These processors consume more power in comparison to Intel processors. AMD also runs hotter while using. If you want a good performance and good compatibility, then AMD processor is not preferable.

If we talk about desktop, and you only want to do normal gaming, then AMD processor can be used because if we talk about lower-end segment, then without graphics card in AMD as compare to Intel graphics card can give good performance.

Example – AMD Sempron, AMD Athlon 64.

Difference between Intel and AMD :

More expensive than AMD Processor.Cheaper than Intel Processors.
More efficient than AMD.Less efficient than Intel.
Runs cooler for longer duration.Heats up faster.
Faster than AMD.Not very fast compared to Intel.
It’s clock speed in 2.93 GHz.It’s clock speed is 2 GHz.
Server Hybrid Technology is not as innovative as AMD.This technology is innovated by AMD.
It has symmetric microprocessor capabilities upto 4 sockets/16 cores. It has symmetric microprocessor capabilities upto 8 socket/32 cores.
