Fedora: 
Fedora is a powerful operating system based on the Linux kernel which is available for free. It is an open-source distributed software that is supported by the global community. Initially, it was known as Fedora Core. It was introduced in the year 2003. Fedora promotes the Security-Enhanced Linux, it is a feature that implements several security policies, which are missing in most of the Linux based operating system. It is robust and modular in nature. Fedora provides the latest technology on current hardware platforms with the help of rapid development and releases cycle. 

Red Hat: 
Red Hat Enterprise Linux or RHEL, is a Linux-based operating system that is designed for businesses. It is the successor of Fedora core. It is also an open-source distribution like a fedora and other Linux operating systems. It is more stable than Fedora but less cutting-edge as compared to Fedora. Red Hat is generally sold through the annual and monthly subscription which includes the technical support and Red Hat network. It was introduced in 1994 and it is mainly developed for corporate purpose. It is more stable among all the other Linux based operating systems. 

Difference between Fedora and Red Hat: 

 

Fedora Red Hat
Fedora is a general purpose Operating System which is built over the Linux OS kernel architecture. Red Hat is more likely a Corporate based on the Fedora project.
Fedora is an open source and free to use, modify and distribute. Red Hat is typically sold through an annual subscription.
Fedora is not as stable as compared to Red Hat. Red Hat is most stable among all the available Linux based operating systems.
New release of Fedora Core occur about every six months which is far too often. Red Hat follows the 12-18 month release schedule rather than six months.
Fedora is not supported Red Hat product, so not recommended for production environments. Red Hat provides technical support and maintenance during stated time period.
