1. Features :
A statement about a product or service as to what it does or what it can do. Features gives rise to advantage. It defines different aspects of the product. It can be technical or descriptive. Mainly features acts as the basis of benefits so it is targeted to improve as many possible features in the product or service.

For example you are buying a smart phone and it has internet connectivity facility. Means it refers to one of the features of the smart phone. Another feature may be the device having 64 mp camera.

One more example can be suppose a product is water based, non toxic and non flammable.

2. Benefits :
It is showing the end result of what the product or service can accomplish for the user. Advantage gives rise to the benefits. It refers to how customers’ lives are improved when they use it. So benefits depends on features means the more features will be included means more benefits we will get from a product or service.

For example if you brought the phone having internet connectivity facility then you can easily attend online classes using internet. Another benefit you can get from the device having a good camera is that you can capture each moment of your life and store it in your mobile.

One more example can be the product having water based, non toxic and non flammable features, the benefit we can obtain is that it is environment friendly and healthier in workplace.

Difference between Features and Benefits :

07. Features have almost no emotional effect on user’s prospect. Benefits have almost emotional effect on user’s prospect.
08. Features gives rise to advantage. Advantage gives rise to the benefits.
09. For example the laptop is having 512 GB SSD along with 1 TB HDD is a feature. For example the laptop with 512 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD will be more faster and it will be easy to perform different tasks quickly.
