1. Android 1.0 :
Android 1.0 is the very first version of Android which was introduced by Google. It had some basic features including web browser support, camera support, Gmail counts, Google maps and Youtube application. Although it does not have the official version name like further introduces versions but unofficially it is called Apple Pie. The API level in Android 1.0 version is 1. It is not used anymore in the mobile devices. It was released on 23 September 2008.

2. Android 2.3 :
Android 2.3 is next version of Android after Android 2.2 which was introduced by Google. It had all the features of its previous versions and some new major features were also added in this version. Some key user features and developer features were introduced in this version. Major features like social networking and video call feature were added in this version. Besides this copy/paste, power management and keyboard was improved. Its version name is Gingerbread. The API level in Android 2.3 is 9. It was released on 06 December 2010.



Difference between Android 1.0 and Android 2.3 :

7. It has unofficial version name ‘Apple Pie’. It has official version name ‘Gingerbread’.
8. It had limited basic features like google maps, gmail, web browser, camera and youtube. It had all the features of previous versions and some new major user and developer features were added in this version.
9. It did not have video calling service. It supported video calling.
10. It did not provide social networking features. Social networking features were added in this version.
