Deloitte USI visited our campus for the Analyst profile. The CGPA cutoff was 6.5 and all branches were eligible for B.Tech and only CS/IT for M.Tech. There were a total of three rounds. Around 100 students applied.

Round 1 (Online Test): This round was conducted on AMCAT and was monitored through webcam and microphone. The test had 3 sections and one needs to submit a section to move to the next section. One cannot go back to any question. The difficulty level of questions was easy to moderate. The following sections were there in the test:

  1. Verbal Reasoning
  2. Logical Reasoning
  3. Quantitative Reasoning

After this round, 33 students were shortlisted for the next round.

Round 2 (JAM Round): The students were divided into 4 panels and each panel had 8-9 students. The panelist selected anyone randomly and asked to choose a number between 1-40. Then he gave a topic corresponding to that number. One can change their topic once, but then he/she cannot go back to the previously given topic. Then we were given 2 minutes to think and speak on that topic. One is expected to speak for at least one minute of the assigned 2 minutes.

It is advised that the candidate strictly stays within the speaking limit and covers it well. Ideally, an introduction, a pro, a con, and a conclusion is expected. They are not looking to check your knowledge of the topic but the way you articulate your thoughts, flow of ideas, confidence, and most importantly the communication skills. Grammar is also a judgment criterion here but it will definitely not be the only reason for your rejection.

After this round, 22 students were shortlisted and were invited for Personal Interview.

Round 3 (Personal Interview): It was a one on one interview with Senior Managers at Deloitte USI. First, he asked me to introduce myself meanwhile he reviewed my resume. Then he got interested in the work that I did in my internship, so he asked various questions related to it, what challenges I faced during the internship and how I overcame them.

I had various projects in Machine Learning, Object Detection, and Web Development. Most of them were deployed, so he was impressed by seeing the demo of those projects. Then he asked me to explain all the projects in brief and the technologies used in them. He also asked various questions to check my understanding of the concepts involved in those projects.

After this, he asked me what languages I am comfortable with and asked a few OOPS and DBMS questions. He was impressed by the fact that I had a clear understanding of these being from an Electrical Engineering background.

Then he moved to HR questions,

  1. Why do you want to join Deloitte USI?
  2. What are your strengths?
  3. What are the things that you want to change in yourself?
  4. What is the feedback of your seniors about Deloitte?
  5. Have you worked in teams and what was your contribution?
  6. Have you ever lead a team?
  7. Few questions regarding the competitions I participated in and my PORs at college.

After all these questions he got a good idea about myself and told me that it’s done from his side. He asked me if I had any questions from him. I asked him like what are the responsibilities of a new analyst joining Deloitte USI and how teams are assigned to them. He elaborately answered all my questions. I thanked him for this opportunity and the interview ended.

Tip: Stay confident and never try to bluff in front of the interviewer. Write only those things which you can explain clearly in your resume. The interviewers were really helpful, they will not judge you if you make some mistakes or get stuck somewhere. They will help you wherever possible.

After this round, 15 students were extended full-time offers, and I was one of them. They invited us to a new meeting and congratulated all of us.
