Decimal Point Analytics visited our college during the 2nd week of December for hiring Interns for their company in Mumbai. They offered 2 roles of Interns – Data Science Intern and Software Development Engineer (SDE) Intern. I have applied for the role of SDE Intern.

Round 1 (Online Test): The Online Test was conducted on the HackerEarth platform and it consisted of 2 sections. You can navigate to any section at any time. DURATION: 1 hr 34 min

Aptitude section (15 MCQs): MARKING SCHEME: 2 marks on each correct answer, 0 marks on each incorrect answer.

This section consisted of questions on Arithmetic Reasoning, Series Completion, Verbal Reasoning, and Blood Relations. Questions were of easy to moderate level, so having good practice on aptitude questions will help you a lot.

SOURCES TO PREPARE: Faceprep, Indiabix, Interviewbit

Coding section: 2 questions: MARKING SCHEME: Ques-1 is 20 marks, Ques-2 is 50 marks

Writing a Naive / Brute force solution will give you TLE in both the questions, so think of an optimized solution. I would suggest you solve MCQs as soon as possible ( within 20-30 min ) so that you will have more time to solve coding questions.

11 were shortlisted after this round.

SOURCES TO PREPARE: GeeksforGeeks, HackerEarth, Leetcode

Round 2 (Technical/Domain-based interview – PLATFORM): Microsoft Teams ( 20-30 min ): The interview panel consisted of only one interviewer and he mainly focused on Projects and OOPS concepts. He first asked me to tell him about myself. After that, I was asked to describe my projects in brief. I was able to gain his attention in one of my projects, so he has asked me more on that project. After that, he asked me about Inheritance, write an example code on inheritance, and the importance of OOPs. At last, he asked me if I had any questions for him. I have asked about the work culture in Decimal Point Analytics, and the technologies we get to use in their company.

I would suggest you have a good knowledge of everything you mentioned in your resume. Be clear and confident with your projects because having good knowledge of your project will make your interview a bit easier.

4 were shortlisted after this round.

Round 3 (HR Interview): This was the last round of the hiring process and the easiest too. This telephonic interview will hardly last around 10-15 minutes. The interviewer was friendly, so speak confidently. Here, I was asked about my academics, family background, location, short-term and long-term goals, whether I would be comfortable with the job location, and what frameworks I know in web development.

All 4 members were selected for the internship.

All the best for your future.
