Create Lightning Effect using Flash

User engagement is very important for any organization to know the interest of the users and for that animation is the best way. For making animations different applications are available but the application that satisfies the need of most of the animators is Flash. It has huge potential to create every type of animation whether it be puppet animation, motion graphic, vector graphic, or any other type of animation. 

Lightning Effect

The lightning effect is used with the rain effect to give a more realistic touch to the animation project, it is really important so we will learn to animate it by using one of the simplest methods in which we don’t need to draw many frames. Follow the below steps to animate the lightning effect.

Step 1: Open a new project in adobe flash.

Step 2: Change the stage color to black.

Step 3: Now make the lightning effect on the first frame using the brush tool and then modify the lines using selection and free transform tool.

Step 4: Add a new layer on the timeline using Add new layer button.

Step 5: Make another lightning on this layer.

Step 6: Add a new layer and name it Effect.

Step 7: Draw a rectangle using a rectangle too and place it on the top of lightning.

Step 8: At frame 2 insert a keyframe by pressing F6 and changing the shape of the rectangle so to cover the lightning part.

Step 9: Similarly at frame 3 insert a keyframe by pressing F6 and changing the shape of the rectangle so to cover the lightning part.

Step 10: Add a new keyframe at frame 4 and cover the entire lightning with a rectangle.

Step 11: Copy the second keyframe and paste at frame 5, similarly copy the fourth keyframe and paste it on frame 6.

Step 12: Now right-click on the effect layer and select the mask option.

Step 13: Insert more frames to hold the animation longer.

Step 14: Press the run button to see the animation.

Congratulations your lightning animation is ready. You can press Ctrl + Enter to see the output of the animation. Here is the video of the lightning effect.
