CompositeName getSuffix() method in Java with Examples

The getSuffix() method of a javax.naming.CompositeName class is used to get a composite name object whose components consist of a suffix of the components in this composite name. The position from which we need to start extracting the Suffix from this composite name object is passed as a parameter. The returned composite name object and this composite name object share the same syntax. If we make any changes to this composite name that will not affect the name that is returned and vice versa.

Syntax:

public Name getSuffix(int posn)

Parameters: This method accepts posn which is the 0-based index of the component at which to Start. Must be in the range [0, size()].

Return value: This method returns a composite name consisting of the components at indexes in the range [posn, size()). If posn is equal to size(), an empty composite name is returned.

Exception: This method throws ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException If posn is outside the specified range.
