Cognizant Interview Experience (On-Campus)

Round 1:ONLINE TEST

It was an online test conducted by AMCAT, it had four sections  in the first round verbal, reasoning, Quants and the automata round which is nothing but we have complete few snippets or write a code for few easy questions like gcd of two numbers, factorial etc. The entire process of the test was under the surveillance of a webcam if anyone else other than you is captured in the camera then you will be automatically disqualified.

I was qualified for the next round luckily.

Round 2:TECHNICAL INTERVIEW

After 14-15 days, Cognizant came to our campus for the interview process.All the students who were shortlisted for the technical interview were excepted to submit their resumes to the officials.The process started from 11 A.M. After that we were waiting to go for interview, as they were sending students in a group of 5.Around 3 P.M, I went to the interview room.

There was only one person in my panel.

Ques 1: Tell me something about yourself?

Ans: I answered while he went through my resume.

Ques 2: What is your Department?

Ans: I answered him Information Technology.

Ques 3: What is the difference between CSE and IT?

Ans:I explained him not much, our syllabus is almost same, only few subjects are not same.

Ques 4: What are your hobbies?

Ans: I told him.

Ques 5: What do you mean by cryptocurrency?

Ans: I gave him a formal definition.

Ques 6: Can you explain me what is a cloud?

Ans: I answered him by explaining used for big data storage, etc.

Ques 7: What was your project in your Internship?

Ans: I explained him my project and my role in the project.

Ques 8: What are these online courses that you have done?

Ans: I explained him my courses that I have done from Coursera and Spoken Tutorial from IIT Bombay.

Ques 9: Can you write a program to reverse a linked list?

Ans: I wrote the program and then explained him.

Ques 10: Explain me binary search algorithm.

Ans: I first wrote the code, then explained by giving an example, and also deduced the time complexity.

The Interviewer said that the interview was nice, please wait for the results.

I waited for around half an hour, and my name was called that I have been shortlisted for the next round.

Round 3:HR ROUND

Ques 1: What do you know about Cognizant?

Ans: I answered him.

Ques 13: If you are the education minister of the country and you have to do some changes in the syllabus of engineering, what will you do?

Ans: I answered him by updating the syllabus according to the recent trends of the market, and adding more practical exposure, will be helpful.

Ques 14: What are your hobbies?Have you achieved anything in your extra-curricular activities?

Ans: I answered him.

After 5 days, names of seleceted students were sent in a list in our college placement cell mail id, and my name was there in the list.
