The selection process consists of 4 rounds.

First Round: Non-technical online assessment which asks questions based on logical reasoning, aptitude, English, and some mind games to check your sharpness. There are no questions based on technical skills based on C, JAVA, etc.

The Second Round is a Communicative assessment. In this round, you will be tested on your English speaking skills. You will be given some sentences you have to read them aloud fluently. You will also be given some recordings which you have to repeat it after and solve some questions in English.

The Third Round is a Technical Interview in which you will be asked about yourself, your projects, internships (if any), and your preferable concepts like OOPS, OS, DMBS, etc. I was asked about my projects, and internships the below questions:

  • What are OOPS and its four pillars? Name some languages that are based on OOPS.
  • What is the difference between a thread and a process?
  • How can you see a process in OS?
  • Name some other commands in OS.
  • Difference between C++ and JAVA.
  • Difference between JAVA and JAVASCRIPT.
  • Some basic aptitude questions based on SI, Speed-Time, Cost Price-Selling price.
  • Write a query to find the average for each department
  • employee( e_id, e_name, e_roll)
  • Some questions are based on my projects. These were basic.

The Fourth round is the HR round. You will be notified after clearing the third round. This is pretty easy. Just read about Cognizant history and have a good answer for ‘how do you see yourself in the next 5 years ?’, ‘Why do you want to join our company?’ . and see some basic HR questions too.
