The getDeclaredMethods() method of java.lang.Class class is used to get the methods of this class, which are the methods that are private, public, protected or default and its members or the members of its member classes and interfaces, but not the inherited methods. The method returns the methods of this class in the form of an array of Method objects.
Syntax:

public Method[] getDeclaredMethods()
               throws SecurityException

Parameter: This method does not accept any parameter.
Return Value: This method returns the methods of this class in the form of an array of Method objects.
Exception This method throws SecurityException if a security manager is present and the security conditions are not met.
Below programs demonstrate the getDeclaredMethods() method.
Example 1:

Java

// Java program to demonstrate getDeclaredMethods() method

import java.util.*;

public class Test {
    public static void main(String[] args)
        throws ClassNotFoundException
    {

        // returns the Class object for this class
        Class myClass = Class.forName("Test");

        System.out.println("Class represented by myClass: "
                           + myClass.toString());

        // Get the methods of myClass
        // using getDeclaredMethods() method
        System.out.println(
            "DeclaredMethods of myClass: "
            + Arrays.toString(
                  myClass.getDeclaredMethods()));
    }
}

Output:

Class represented by myClass: class Test
DeclaredMethods of myClass: [public static void Test.main(java.lang.String[]) throws java.lang.ClassNotFoundException]

Example 2:

Java

// Java program to demonstrate getDeclaredMethods() method

import java.util.*;

class Main {

    public Object obj;

    private void function() {}

    Main()
    {

        class Arr {
        };

        obj = new Arr();
    }

    public static void main(String[] args)
        throws ClassNotFoundException
    {
        // returns the Class object for this class
        Class myClass = Class.forName("Main");

        System.out.println("Class represented by myClass: "
                           + myClass.toString());

        // Get the methods of myClass
        // using getDeclaredMethods() method
        System.out.println(
            "DeclaredMethods of myClass: "
            + Arrays.toString(
                  myClass.getDeclaredMethods()));
    }
}

Output:

Class represented by myClass: class Main
DeclaredMethods of myClass: [public static void Main.main(java.lang.String[]) throws java.lang.ClassNotFoundException, private void Main.function()]
