Citicorp Interview Experience (On-Campus)

Citi Corp, Chennai visited our campus for full-time hiring for the role of Technology Analyst.

They allowed CS, IT & E&TC branch students with an average CGPA above 6 to give the entrance test. The test was conducted on the AMCAT platform. It was a 2-hour online test and was video proctored, There was no negative marking.

The test had 4 sections and each section was individually timed.

3 MCQ sections + 1 coding section

1. Quantitative Aptitude
2. Verbal Reasoning
3. Technical MCQs
4. 2 Coding Questions

The difficulty of coding questions was medium. I solved one of the coding question 90% and also the MCQ were easy, so I could also solve them. I cleared the first online test.

After the online test, there were two interview rounds as follows.

1.Technical Interview

There were two panelists for this round. Everything was conducted online.

• In this round first I was asked to explain any project that I had done so far. So I talked about one of the projects that I had done during my internship recently. They asked few questions about the project.
• Next, they asked me about my preferred coding language. I had answered Java and Python. So they asked me about some OOP concepts, java related questions, some functions in python, etc. 
• Next, they also asked me some managerial-type questions during this round. Why do you want to join Citi? If your manager carries out some unethical business practices what would you do? How easy/difficult would it be to reallocate to a different city? Etc. They wanted to check my confidence, patience, etc, they kept asking few questions repeatedly. It’s important to keep calm and reply to them even if you have to repeat the same thing twice or thrice don’t get irritated just be confident and firm on what you are saying.

2.HR Round

Only one panelist was there. He asked me to give an introduction. I was asked the best part of my college journey so far. Also, I was asked if the location is Chennai, will I be okay with reallocating as I stay in a different city.

I cleared both these rounds and was placed at Cit Corp, Chennai on 1st October 2020.
