Hello everyone, Cisco visited our campus in August 2021 for Internship and full-time roles for the 2022 graduating batch.

The entire process was concise, well-structured, and was conducted within 2 days. All the interviewers were very humble and well behaved.

ROUND 1(ONLINE TEST):

  • 25 MCQS: Based on OS, CN, and aptitude.
  • 2 Coding questions:  One was Easy and the other was Medium. I was able to solve both of them. The medium question was based on string and hashmap.

ROUND 2(Technical Interview – 1 Hour): There were two interviewers, they gave briefs about themselves and then asked me to introduce myself.

  • I wrote 4 projects on my resume, so they asked me to tell briefly about all of them, then they took 2 projects and asked about Technology used its algorithm, and the challenges I faced in making it.
  • Next about the technologies I use. I told them C, CPP and Python. So they asked python topics like lists, tuples, dictionaries, decorators(I didn’t know it at that time).
  • Next up they asked some OS concepts like Semaphore, thread, process.
  • As I mentioned Machine Learning and ML projects in my resume, they asked me If I did this as a part of my college curriculum or learned it by myself.
  • After some discussion here they asked me to write an Insertion Sort Algorithm. I wrote code on a document and then explained the code using an online whiteboard.
  • After some discussion here they asked me to write Insertion Sort Algorithm. I wrote code on a document and then explained the code using an online whiteboard.

ROUND 3(Technical + Managerial Interview – 1 Hour): It was a mixed interview, the interviewer was very friendly.

  • We started with discussing some city and its experience.
  • Then he gave his introduction then I gave him my Introduction.
  • Asked What is the difference between enough and sufficient. [Bcause I used ‘enough’ in my intro]
  • He asked me about my experiences of some cities, and situations.
  • We Discussed my projects and after that the type of work I did till now in my projects.
  • Then he asked me to rate myself out of 10 in Java and Python.
  • Then discussed the profile suitable for me.

ROUND 4(HR Interview – 10 mins):

  • Introduction
  • Why Cisco
  • Hobbies
  • Location Preferences
  • Any Questions

Final Verdict: Selected

Suggestion:

  • Be prepared to write code and try to use a whiteboard to explain the code better. This helps in clearly delivering your thoughts.
  • Stay Calm and keep a soft smile. The interviewers are gonna be friendly.
  • Be prepared for surprise questions.
  • Prepare basic computer fundamentals well like OS, DBMS, CN.
