This is a first-hand experience of the Cisco Campus Ambassador program experience with some tips and tricks to prepare better.

The Application:

This involved some basic questions regarding you and your background. Answer briefly but involve some main points which align with what skills they require. Update your resume as you will need to upload it and write achievements not just related to coding but also related to any social activities like debating, volunteering, etc. to let them know you are comfortable in large crowds and have a large local presence. This also requires a short video ( up to 2:30 min). Try to look formal and answer the questions only after preparing thoroughly.

Questions that should be answered –

  1. What do you know about Cisco?
  2. Why do you want to join Cisco?
  3. Why would you be a good fit for cisco?
  4. Any past/relevant skills to become an ambassador?

The one-on-one round

I had to give this round online due to covid, but the experience should be similar for you people. Have a good internet connection, look professional and research about Cisco in advance. The questions were mainly HR based but revise on any past projects you may have done so that you can explain them properly.A person from Cisco will take a one on one interview.

Questions asked-

  1. Why do you want to join this particular program?
  2. What are your goals that align with Ciscos vision?
  3. Any past projects you have worked on?
  4. In these times[covid] what ideas do you have for making more engaging content to get students to know about what Cisco believes in and wants?
  5. How much time can you spare for Cisco?

All in all, you will get to meet and network with people inside the company. This offers a variety of opportunities and if you have a little free time on your hands this could be worth considering. My interviewer was very nice, and I was comfortable in asking him doubts I had regarding Cisco. So feel free to ask your representative polity if you have any doubts.
