ChronoLocalDate plus(long, TemporalUnit) method in Java with Examples
  • Last Updated : 29 Apr, 2019

plus(long, TemporalUnit) method of a ChronoLocalDate interface used to return a copy of this ChronoLocalDate with the specified amount of unit added to ChronoLocalDate.If it is not possible to add the amount, because the unit is not supported or for some other reason, an exception is thrown.This instance is immutable and unaffected by this method call.

Syntax:

public ChronoLocalDate plus(long amountToAdd,
                      TemporalUnit unit)

Parameters: This method accepts two parameters:

  • amountToAdd: which is the amount of the unit to add to the result, may be negative
  • unit: which is the unit of the amount to add.

Return value: This method returns ChronoLocalDate based on this date-time with the specified amount added.

Below programs illustrate the plus() method:

Program 1:

// Java program to demonstrate
// ChronoLocalDate.plus() method

import java.time.*;
import java.time.temporal.*;
import java.time.chrono.*;

public class GFG {
    public static void main(String[] args)
    {

        // create a ChronoLocalDate object
        ChronoLocalDate zonedlt
            = LocalDate.parse("2018-12-06");

        // add 300 Months to ChronoLocalDate
        ChronoLocalDate value
            = zonedlt.plus(300, ChronoUnit.MONTHS);

        // print result
        System.out.println("ChronoLocalDate after adding Months : "
                           + value);
    }
}
Output:
ChronoLocalDate after adding Months : 2043-12-06
