Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 1: Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Chapter 1 in Class 11 Chemistry is “Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry,” which introduces chemistry with several fundamental topics, such as what matter is, how matter is combined to form different substances, atomic theories, mole concepts, etc. Other than this, a complete detailed list of all the covered topics in this chapter is as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 2: Structure of Atom

After the introduction of chemistry, the most fundamental Chapter of all matter i.e., the atom is introduced in chapter 2 with the name “Structure of Atom”. In this chapter, we study all the models of atoms with their pros as well as flaws and the journey of how these models were discovered. Other than that the list of all the topics this chapter covers is as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 3: Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties

Chapter 3 of Class 11 Chemistry is “Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties,” which classifies elements (different atoms) into a comprehensive table known as the Modern Periodic Table. In this chapter, we also learn about the journey from the simple classification of elements into triads to the completion of a comprehensive table of all elements. Additionally, the complete list of topics covered in this chapter is as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 4: Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure

Chapter 4 on the list is “Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure,” where we study the interactions of elements, various kinds of bonds, and their formation using different theories like VSEPR or MOT, Hybridization, Hydrogen bonding, etc. A lot of other topics, which are given in the list, are also covered in this chapter.

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 5: States of Matter

Chapter 5 in the list of chapters of Class 11 Chemistry is “States of Matter: Gases and Liquids,” where we finally study something about matter (since the study of matter is chemistry). In this chapter, we study matter and its states, such as liquids and gases (there is no discussion of solid-state here, as that is covered in the stand-alone chapter in Class 12 Chemistry). The detailed list of topics covered in Chapter 5 is as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 6: Thermodynamics

After the study of matter and its state, “Thermodynamics” is introduced in chapter 6, in which we study heat, energy, work, and their interaction in various systems. Also, the effect of heat and energy on different properties of matter. A lot of new terminologies are introduced like enthalpy and entropy. Furthermore, the complete list of all the topics in this chapter is as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 7: Equilibrium

Chapter 7 which is the last chapter of the first textbook of chemistry is “Equilibrium”, which means a state where all the opposing influences are at peace with each other i.e., the system is balanced. In the language of chemistry, equilibrium is the state in a reversible reaction where no net change of reactant and product occurs. Additionally, the complete list of all the topics covered in this chapter are as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 8: Redox Reactions

Chapter 8 “Redox Reactions” marks the start of the second textbook of chemistry and introduces the idea behind the redox reaction, which is a term for that reaction where reduction (the number of electrons increases) and oxidation (the number of electrons decreases) both happen simultaneously. Other than this very simple definition this chapter covers a lot of topics which are listed as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 9: Hydrogen

Chapter 9 in Class 11th Chemistry is “Hydrogen,” which is the first element in the list of all elements, listed either by atomic weight or atomic number. Other than being number 1, hydrogen is an abundant element as it is the simplest element in the universe with one proton and one electron. This chapter introduces us to how essential and useful hydrogen is to mankind. Other topics covered in this chapter include:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 10: The s-Block Elements

Chapter 10 of Class 12 Chemistry is “The s-Block Elements”, which consists of the first two groups of the modern periodic table i.e., groups 1 and 2. Group 1A is called alkali metals whereas Group 2A is called alkali earth metals as oxides of these metals are basic in nature. The list of the topics covered in this chapter is as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 11: The p-Block Elements

As the Periodic table is classified into four groups s-block, p-block, d-block, and f-block, so after studying s-block elements it is only natural to study the p-block element which is chapter 11 of Class 11 Chemistry. But this chapter only includes two groups of the p-block i.e., groups 13 and 14 a.k.a Boron Family and Carbon Family. All the topics this chapter includes are:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 12: Organic Chemistry -Some Basic Principles and Techniques

Chapter 12 in Class 11 Chemistry is the introduction to Organic Chemistry with basic principles and techniques used in organic chemistry. This chapter introduces the classification and nomenclature of compounds, isomerism, purification, and quantitative analysis, etc. The complete list of all the covered topics is as follows:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 13: Hydrocarbons

After the introduction to Organic Chemistry, the most essential component of organic chemistry “Hydrocarbons” is introduced in chapter 13. Hydrocarbons are compounds formed with hydrogen and carbon as the name suggests, and form the foundation of completer organic chemistry. Other than alkane, alkene, and alkyne this chapter includes the following topics:

Class 11 Chemistry Notes Chapter 14: Environmental Chemistry

Chapter 14 of Class 11 Chemistry is “Environmental Chemistry”, where students learn about the environment and how the thoughtlessness of humans has affected the environment irreversibly. The complete industrial revolution happened without even considering its impact of it on the environment. Other than humans we learn about all the following topics in this chapter:
