Axis Bank recently visited our campus for hiring students for Analyst Intern roles. The overall process was of 2 stages and each of the stages was eliminatory. Students from any department were allowed to sit for the online test followed by a cv shortlisting.

Round 1(Online Test): Online test was about 3 hours with 15 MCQs which were based on ml regression basics and statistics and also there was a coding question (you are free to choose your language), where it was clearly mentioned that you can’t get 100% accuracy through all test cases will get passed( I got 97% accuracy). It was based on a 2D matrix type problem. Accuracy in MCQs was the most important requirement (not the time of completion) in this test.

10 out of around 120(CV shortlisted) students got shortlisted for the next round and 6 were on the waiting list.

Round 2(Tech+HR round): There was a panel of 3 interviewers. Firstly they asked me to introduce myself. One of them asked me about the online assessment (like what was your experience, difficulty n all), then asked how did I approach the coding problem (just the intuition behind it). After that they go through my CV (I did my 2nd yr summer internship as a consultant) and asked me about my internship experience, and asked a market entry problem i.e. How can you help Tesla to get a market entry strategy to get into the Indian market (It was a brainstorming problem). It was a completely CV-based question as my friends got problems on ml project that they had mentioned in the CV). Then they asked my expectations towards this internship.

Out of 10 shortlisted students, 4 got offers, and I was one of them.

Tips: To get a good internship you must have a few projects or internships or both in the relevant areas. You should have a deep understanding of your work and should be able to answer any questions related to it.
