Avaya visited our campus for a placement offer.

First Round: First Round consisted of 32 Questions. Out of the 30 were MCQs and 2 were coding questions. 15 MCQs were based on aptitude and the other 15 were based upon C, C++, Java, OS, and CN. Both coding questions were having medium difficulty levels but the time I felt that the time was not sufficient. Here I felt that your speed of problem-solving was the deciding factor to clear this round.

Out of 350 students, 35 cleared this round.

Second Round: Second Round was a Technical Interview. The interviewers asked me to introduce myself and they began to ask me questions based on my resume. They asked a couple of questions about my projects and then moved to questions on OS. They asked me to rate myself between 0 to 10 in Linux. They continued questions like writing commands to copy the contents of one file into another. Then the interviewer asked me questions about the OSI model and told me to brief about what happens in which layer and the protocols related to each layer. Most of the questions in this round were based on CN and Linux only.

Third Round: Third Round was HR Round. The interviewers asked me to introduce myself and they asked about my hobbies and any extracurricular activities that I participated in. Then they asked me what is my dream company. While answering this question I did not mention any specific name, so the interviewer was insisting that I should at least tell one name. I defended my stand and told the interviewer that I look into the qualities and opportunities that a company can provide in a dream company so any company that is capable of that is my dream company. Honestly to my surprise, the interviewer was not satisfied with my answer so, try to make more sense than this answer. After that I was asked how would I solve a conflict in a team and other situation-based questions.

After all the interviews, 4 students were selected.

Conclusion: To crack the first round speed is a factor in aptitude questions. Technical MCQs can be solved quickly if you know the concepts. To crack the technical interviews you should be prepared with questions on computer networks and operating systems, especially Linux. Be confident while answering the questions.

Hope this experience helps you and all the best!
