AstraZeneca Interview Experience for Software Engineer (On-Campus) for batch 2022

Role: Graduate Trainee

Placement Process: The interview process consists of 3 rounds.

Round 1: Logical, analytical and technical MCQ questions mostly time-based sections.  We had to attempt 55 MCQs in 60 minutes. Out of 200 Students only 17 students were shortlisted.

Round 2(Technical interview): This round lasted for around 25 to 30 minutes. It was a one-to-one interview. The interviewer first introduced him then asked me to introduce myself. And then he asked me about my family background. After that questions were like:

  • Tell me about yourself(  Be clear on what you say )
  • what do you know about the company ?
  • Tell me about your project.
  • what is box model in css , explain  about the position property in css , what are some classes in bootstrap you used in your project(Since I mentioned that I contributed for developing frontend in my project).
  • what are your strengths and weaknesses and how did you overcome that weaknesses .
  • Which technology & language did u learn during lockdown period?
  • Some questions based on my resume.

This interviewer was so friendly throughout the round.

Round 3(HR interview): On the same day itself, I got a call for the HR interview. This round also lasted for around 25 to 30 minutes. There were two people in the panel. They asked usual HR questions but it was quite tricky. They will not expect a perfect answer but you should be bold while answering the questions. Sometimes they even pretend they don’t listen to you but actually what they are doing is to test your patience and check whether you will fit for the company. For example,

  • what do you know about the company ?
  • why did you choose this company ?
  • Tell me about your project?
  • why did you choose this topic?
  • Does this project have any future scope ?
  • how many people were in your project?
  • what is your role in the project?
  • what challenges you faced during the project and how did you overcome those challenges?
  • why should we hire you?
  • Since it is a pharmaceutical company , what will be your role as a software engineer?

Some final questions on relocating and so on, Result was announced on the same day itself. Out of 17 only 5 got selected and I was one of them.

Verdict: Selected

Tips: Visit their website to know more about the company. Be calm & confident while answering the questions if you don’t know the solution don’t give up, tell them your approach.

These are some questions that were asked in the interview. Don’t mention anything in your resume that you can’t explain.
