Anti-keylogger

KeyLogger is specifically designed to capture the keystrokes entered by the user. It is one of the most basic software which, may seem harmless, but it can be dangerous if it falls under the hands of an attacker. Now the keylogger is one of the oldest cyber threats. It gives an advantage to an attacker to record the information of the victim which can be personal, confidential, or sensitive.

Anti-keylogger is software that is designed in such a manner, that it can detect any keylogger present in the system. It has the capacity to stop any keylogger activity from taking place. It is specifically designed to prevent the activity of the keylogger. It protects the user from the keystrokes getting captured by the keylogger. So using Anti-keylogger the user’s confidential or sensitive or personal details can be saved from the attacker. This is used by companies and more to stop the keylogger activity from taking place. It does not differentiate between any keylogger activity.

Note:- Anti-keylogger is used for many reasons like in public computers, and more. 

Multiple functions take place in the Anti-keylogger to protect from the keylogger activity. Two of them are :

1. Signature-Based Detection :
   Anti-KeyLogger checks if any of the files have a presence of the keylogger, and mark it as a threat to the computer. They also provide the details of why it is considered a threat to the computer. Now all security systems are said to be perfect, each has its own disadvantage. So the disadvantage of Signature-Based Detection is it can protect only from the listed keylogger activity. It will not protect from any keylogger which is not recognized by the Signature-Based Detection.
2. Behavioral Detection :
   It is also known as a heuristic. It contains some properties or features by which they can uniquely identify any keylogger activity that can be considered as harmful.  Now if anyone is using the keylogger to gain access to the keyboard, this behavioral detection will help to identify and stop the keylogger activity. It prevents the characters to get recorded by the keylogger.

Advantage of using Anti-Keylogger :

1. Anti-keylogger does not differentiate between any keylogger activity. So it does not differentiate between a legal keystroke program with an illegal keystroke program.
2. It is better for managing the activity of the keylogger.
3. If it detects any keylogger it will stop any keylogger activity from taking place.
4. It is used in many places like public computers, and more to stop the keylogger activity.

The disadvantage of using an Anti-keylogger :

1. Not differentiating any keylogger activity can also act as a disadvantage. That is not differentiating between a legal keystroke program with an illegal keystroke program.
